With one sea less, the world moves on...

The world is so full with human tragedies that we often forget tragedies of others. Thanks to M.B. as she reminded to me one of them - the tragedy of the Aral Sea.

The Aral Sea - once a beautiful inland lake full with vibrant and unique fish reserves, 40,000-employees-strong fishing industry that supplied one sixth of Soviet demand for fish and since 1940s, a terrible Soviet biological weapons laboratory full of anthrax reserves capable to destroy plenty of world's population - now is completely dead. Starting from 1960s, brutal Soviet irrigation system that turned Uzbekistan into a cotton heaven left The Aral Sea as a tiny puddle. Even the voice of Chinghiz Aitmatov couldn't help.
