As I reported before, recently in Baku, the authorities have demolished one mosque and closed the other one "for renovation" while the third one is closed since August of 2008 (q.v. here and here). Moreover, the only mosque in Neft Dashlary - the unique town built entirely at open sea on metal piles and landfill - was also closed down. Now, the fifth mosque is under the threat of following the trend.
According to Lent.az, the curators of a Turkish [Sunni] mosque, commonly known as Ilahiyyat camisi has been warned by police that it was built on illegal grounds, thus it should be closed immediately. The Mosque received a deadline of 22 May.

The official reason for the police interference was a complaint from Abel Maharramov, the Rector of Baku State University for the mosque was built and is operated illegally INSIDE the university campus. Interestingly, the mosque is associated with the Theological Department of Baku State, and is run by the Presidency of Religious Affairs, official state body of the Turkish Republic which also operates the aforementioned theological department and Baku Turkish High School at Baku State.
