The building in danger is a 1820 mansion-turned-school in a Ukrainian town of Chernomyn, and according to photos, it is almost an exact copy of the Washington DC White House. Therefore, teachers and students of the Chernomyn school have placed their hopes in the real White House, and its incoming resident Barack Obama.
"Let him be a kind president and give us money so that we can fix up our school as new" a local student, 14, says.
